What Chemical Peels do we Offer?

We all know that amazing smell of roast pumpkin or baked pumpkin pie… But have you considered putting it on your face?

A pumpkin peel is perfect for sensitive skin types. High in beta-carotene and vitamin A and with the added benefits of TCA it exfoliates while stimulating circulation and promoting healing of the skin. Pumpkin peels are great for lightening pigmentation, stimulating collagen production, tightening skin, minimizing acne breakouts and decreasing fine lines and wrinkles. Unlike other peels, pumpkin peels have little downtime, they are made of natural ingredients and are gentle enough to use fortnightly.

A Jessner is a chemical peel. A mixture of AHA, BHA and Resorcinol which works by removing the top dermal layers of the skin to reveal smoother, more even skin tone and texture. The depth of the peel can be adjusted by our skilled therapists in order to best suit your skin needs. Skin may be red and sensitive post peel and over the coming days tighten then shed for at least 5-7 days (in some people a little longer). The Jessner is fantastic for acne, smoothing out fine lines and wrinkles, texture and evening skin tone such as freckles, skin discoloration, melasma and age spots.

TCA peels utilise Trichloroacetic Acid to remove dead skin cells and stimulate new, fresher skin growth. Perfect for general skin rejuvenation, acne scarring and more typically pigmentation and melasma, they are one of our stronger peels. Post peel your skin will tighten, darken and then shed for around 5- 10 days (in some instances longer). You will see your pigmentation coming up to the surface with the dead skin, then flaking away to leave fresh, soft, supple new skin underneath.

Lactic acid peels are a milder peel derived from alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs). The lactic acid peel helps to brighten and lighten skin, improve fine lines and wrinkles and dry up acne prone oily skin. It is a wonderful choice for a first-time peel or for those with sensitive skin and want less of a downtime compared to the Jessner or TCA peels.

Mandelic acid peels are also made of alpha hydroxyl acids (AHA) but tend to be even less irritating than lactic acid peels. Mandelic acid peels are a great “pick me up” for the skin, helping to accelerate skin turn over and improve fine lines and tightness for and over all complexion.
